I now have TWO zodiac signs?

Just as I was dozing off last night, I noticed that some of my friends on facebook were posting about the zodiac. Odd, I thought, as no one ever really comments about it… Until someone posted a more detailed status update about a new zodiac sign.

I immediately looked it up and realized that a new sign had been introduced for those born after 2009, and along with it, the dates had changed. What I’m seeing posted are these dates:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Now there’s still a lot of concern over who this affects, and I’ll assume it’ll only affect those born after 2009. So if that’s the case, what if someone was born on Feb. 16? According to the new dates, Capricorn ENDS on that day, while Aquarius STARTS on that day. So which one is it? Do you get to choose? Or do you really have two signs?

I’m sure that the astrology community will be able to clarify the situation in the coming days, but until then, we’ll just have to check both signs… just in case.
