There seemed to be a lot of excitement going on here this weekend. One of the high points happened this Saturday, when the Harlem Ambassadors visited the island to play in a basketball game against some of our finest islanders. The visiting team even came in to school on Friday to give some inspiration to our island students. We lost that night, but everyone had a great time!
Then today, we had the bittersweet excitement of watching a building come down. The McNally Cottage, a historical building downtown, was torn down today. Unfortunately I was working when the demolition began, but I do have some before and after pictures to share. Although I am excited to see more business come to the island, I hope the new structure doesn’t take away any of the island’s charm in the process.
