Before I get into it, I have just a couple more photos of the ice and snow from a few weeks back… I swear, these are my very last ice pictures of the year!

Now this last week gave me a lot of first moments for the year, and I started the week with my first time riding around the island. It was great! I think my favorite part about the ride is always the Arch Rock side around miles 1& 2, because the scenery is so peaceful.
My sister, Carolyn, also opened her coffee shop this weekend, Lucky Bean coffee shop. I had my first coffee drink of the season at the LB, and it was delicious! I can’t wait to spend more time at my sister’s shop this summer, as she has done some new things in the shop already, and will being having more new things coming up as well…
This past Saturday was my first time celebrating World Labyrinth Day, where people all over the world find a labyrinth near to them and do a walking meditation. I’ve been studying a lot of meditation this winter and found that the labyrinth walk was a great way to reflect on the winter that I had and to focus myself on the upcoming summer. I parked over by the school and walked to the Grand Hotel labyrinth for my walk that day. I think they actually have two labyrinths, but for some reason I’ve never been to the other one… guess I’m going to have to make my way to the other one sometime this summer!
My last first of the week was my first time riding the ferry this new season. I hopped onto Shepler’s Ferry and spent a day in Petoskey, MI to do some shopping. Here are a few photos from my fast & also foggy trip:

Have a great week, everyone!
I sure hope that all those huge piles of snow are long gone and the lilacs are getting close! We’ll be there for our first week of the year on the 31st!
Hi Heather! I just got back from my first trip to Mackinaw Island (I’m from Holland – the city here in Michigan, not the country! :)) – I could not believe how unbelievably gorgeous the island is. I felt so sad when I left, like I was leaving home, even though I only stayed for a short time. Your blog posts are helping me with my post vacation blues! I think I read your whole blog – lol! The pictures you post are so pretty, and hearing about your day to day life is so interesting. What a special place. I look forward to more posts! Hope you enjoy the summer!
Hi Bethany,
I’m glad you enjoyed the island, and thanks for also reading my blog! I hope you can make up here again sometime real soon! ๐
Thought I’d try to encourage you to post a new entry. I know it is your very busy season right now, but I’m sure I’m not the only one that misses your great island updates and pictures! ๐
Thanks Mark ๐ Yes, it’s been a very busy season! I’ve just uploaded quite a few photos today and am in the process of organizing them into a few posts! Please keep a lookout in the next day or two for some new entries…
